For those of you who did not read this book, the author’s subject is herself. Still raw from a contentious divorce, a rebound romance and a bout with depression, she decides to spend a year traveling in Italy, India and Indonesia.
“I wanted to explore the art of pleasure in Italy, the art of devotion in India and in Indonesia the art of balancing the two.”
The story is built on the notion of the author trying to heal herself from a severe emotional and spiritual crisis and she weaves her tale with great wit, intelligence and exuberance.

It should be a great time. I’m sure there will be some gelato making involved, plus an exploration of the beautiful spices that make Indian cuisine so flavorful and delicious.
